Constant creativity

It is coming to that time of the year again when artists in Buckinghamshire throw open their studio doors and invite the world and her husband in to view their work. The event runs for two weeks and with over 300 artists participating this year it would take the most dedicated of art lover to get around everyone.

I am participating with my studio group, Commercial Square Studios, and with 9 of us producing varied styles of work we are hoping to appeal as somewhere a lot of work can be seen without having to travel between venues.

As a run up to the event I find myself producing a constant flow of work in order to have a new body of work to show. The event always creeps up on me, despite this being my 6th year. It's a good thing I work better under the pressure of having a deadline.

This year I have been working on texture and trying to incorporate more hand stitching, beads and sequins into my work. I am still evolving this side of my work and I like talking to visitors about my works in progress (sometimes they have the best ideas!)

If you would like to come along to view some work we are open on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd June. Please have a look at the website www.commercialsquarestudios.co.uk for more details or like our Facebook page.
